Burnie United has broken through for its first win of the season in the Northern Championship men’s competition, defeating Northern Rangers 3-1 in Launceston on Saturday. Goals to Regan Murray and Mitchell Stitz, along with an own goal helped haul United off the bottom of the ladder and up into fifth spot. Devonport and Somerset continue to set the pace at the top after wins on the road. The Strikers had Connor Lizotte, Chidinma Esomeju, Henry Andrews and Jordy Payne find the back of the net in a 4-2 result at Riverside, while the Sharks scored a 2-0 win away to Ulverstone thanks to strikes from coach Beau Blizzard and Astyn Johnson.
